What age can my child start learning chess?
Children can begin from age 3. We adapt the pace and teaching style to each child — and adults are very welcome too. It's never too early or too late to start.
Are classes group or one-on-one (private)?
Both. You can choose small group classes (6–8 students per class) for an interactive, social experience, or fully personalised private 1-on-1 coaching with flexible timing.

Are your coaches qualified?
Yes. Every coach is certified, FIDE-rated and experienced, and trained to teach children and adults with patience and structure.
Who are the TDC Supercoaches?
Our Supercoaches are coaches with high experience who are considered the best in their methods of explaining and connecting with students.
How are your coaches vetted?
Every coach goes through a screening process before they're approved to teach: identity verification, direct verification of their FIDE rating and federation credentials (not just self-reported), and a trial class reviewed by our team before they're ever placed with students. All classes are live and supervised on our platform, and you can follow your child's classes and progress directly through the Parent Portal.
How do the online classes work?
Classes are live and interactive on a shared digital chessboard — typically 1 or 2 classes per week, as per your choice — plus weekly tournament practice, with homework, puzzles, and progress tracking between sessions.
Do you help students earn official FIDE or USCF ratings?
Yes. Beyond regular coaching, we specifically prepare students to compete in official FIDE and USCF rated tournaments, so their progress builds toward a recognised, portable chess rating — not just general skill improvement.

Will my child receive certificates?
Yes — students receive level completion certificates as they progress, plus exclusive joining gifts including a premium chess training book and a puzzle book.
What happens if my child misses a class?
Class recordings are provided for missed sessions, and eligible students can use the applicable make-up/rescheduling policy.
Can I reschedule a class?
Yes. Rescheduling is available with prior notice, subject to the applicable plan's policy.
What timezone are classes shown in?
Batch times are shown in major U.S. time zones (Eastern and Pacific) next to each schedule, so you don't need to calculate from Indian Standard Time yourself.
Does my child need previous chess experience?
No prior experience is needed. Based on a quick assessment (or your free demo), we place your child into a Beginner, Intermediate, or Champion group matched to their current level.
How does the Parent Portal work?
The Parent Portal gives you visibility into your child's practice, performance, and progress between classes — including weekly and monthly targets — plus access to a library of chess books, so you can follow their journey alongside their coach.
What is your refund policy?
